"That depends on the number of doors and the system you choose. After a consultation and measuring we send you a quote with a fixed price. It stands before any work begins, and exactly this amount appears on your invoice."

Q: "Do I need new doors for this?"

"As a rule your doors and fittings stay exactly as they are. For a keyed-alike system we swap the cylinders, and many electronic systems simply replace the existing cylinder as well."

Q: "What happens if a key gets lost?"

"With electronic systems you simply block the lost fob or code, everyone else keeps unlocking as usual. With mechanical systems protected by a security card, duplicate keys can only be cut against presentation of the card. Whether swapping individual cylinders makes sense after a loss is something we discuss honestly with you."

Q: "Does an electronic lock work during a power cut or with an empty battery?"

"Most systems run on batteries and are independent of the mains. When the battery runs low, the lock lets you know well in advance. For emergencies there is, depending on the model, a mechanical key or an external power supply."

Q: "I rent my home. Is this still an option?"

"Yes. As a tenant you are free to replace the lock cylinder yourself. You are only obliged to restore the original state when you move out, which is why we keep your old cylinder and hand it back to you labelled."

Q: "Can I still use a normal key alongside fingerprint or app?"

"Yes. Many electronic cylinders combine both: day to day you unlock by fingerprint, code or fob and keep a mechanical key as a backup."
